Fixed it!

I’m back in business! I remembered that the microphones came with these weird solid metal mounts when I ordered them. I’ve never used them, because they transfer vibrations straight into the microphone even better than the plastic mounts do with dynamic microphones. The large condensor mics are fairly heavy though, so I guess plastic ones wouldn’t work with these. Anyway, the joints on these metal mounts are the same as the ones on the shockmounts I have, so I took one of them apart and just replaced the part on the shockmount with it. As good as new! I hope… I’m going to be really careful with the screws from now on. I’m still kind of flabbergasted over the fact that a 5 mm thick steel screw can just snap when you tighten it with one hand… Let’s all say it together: “Cheap material!”

The next song in line to be recorded is a song called “I think I love you”. I’ve been playing around a bit with the format of the song, trying different things to see what sounds best. I think I have it pretty much nailed now, so I’m pretty much ready to start recording. Maybe even tonight.  :)

About Sami

I was born and raised in Sweden and started studying music at the age of 10. Over the following 16 years I learned how to play the guitar, mandolin, bass, drums, trumpet, flutes, piano, sing and a few other things, and eventually graduated from college with a degree in performance. Now I'm trying to put all that stuff to good use and build myself a career, so that I can become incredibly rich and powerful and take over the universe.

Hey, the sound didn’t sound too bad. It wasn’t totally original, but I did like the use of the woodwind within the song. Are you releasing an album anytime soon?

And what is your rainhat project?

Hello Aranes, and thanks for the comment!
Rainhat is the name of my one-man band, basically all of the stuff on this site is it. I am releasing an album pretty soon. I don’t have a set date for it though, since I’m releasing it electronically and not through any record label. I will release it as soon as I have recorded everything and gotten it to sound good, which hopefully should be within the next month or two.

That sounds pretty good. Du have a website where I can listen to some of your songs. And do you specialise in any particular style of music?

It would be great to get your email address so that we could send tracks to each other and find out what the other thinks init.

Tell me what you think Sami

    Thanks

Not sure I understand… This is my website. At the top of the page there’s a menu. If you select “Media” and then “Music”, you can see all the songs I’ve recorded so far and download them for free. My email address is on the “Contact” page.

Critiquing each others’ tracks sounds good, I’m game.

Hello Valentino! Thanks for your comment!

There is no CD to buy yet, I still have a few songs left to record before my first album is complete. If you want, you can download all my songs for free. Just select “Media” and then “Music” in the menu at the top of this page.

My plan for the future is to first finish my album, and then start doing concerts to promote it. Hopefully the album will be ready in about a month.
